Hello! I’m Sala Yu, a concept artist and illustrator based in Los Angeles studying a B.S. in Entertainment Design from ArtCenter College of Design. I design stylized worlds that combine vibrant colors with friendly shapes, covering character, creature, and environment design. I want to support stories that appeal to wholesome game lovers and have a sense of child-like whimsy. Ultimately, I’d like to find a place between gaming and children’s media.
I love community; I’ve organized the ArtCenter Game Jam to bridge together visual artists and game designers under a shared passion for games. My dream would be to work in games, or even make a game myself. In my free time, I am an avid sketchbooker and use it as my outlet to experiment with new styles and push the way I observe the world. Outside of art, I play viola in orchestral and small group settings as a way to express myself beyond the page.
